Railway Minister shares “14 Minutes Miracle” video
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a video of the cleanliness initiative and wrote, Mumkin hai! 14 minutes cleaning protocol for Vande Bharat.”
In the video, the staff members could be springing into action quickly. The minister was also seen in the video with the staff, cheering them on. The video showed the workers sweeping and wiping the trains’ floors, cleaning the toilets and mirrors and scrubbing the trains’ exteriors, while they were timed using a stopwatch. Vaishnaw could be seen inspecting the work done by the workers.
Vande Bharat Trains to adopt the cleaning mechanism
Over 32 Vande Bharat trains across the nation will adopt this swift cleaning mechanism, making it a daily habit. Taking inspiration from the swift cleaning process seen in Japan’s Bullet Trains, where the trains are cleaned within 7 minutes, this new intitiative by the Indian Railways aims to set new standards of cleanliness in trains.
As per an ANI report, the procedure which usually takes 3-4 hours was completed within 15 minutes, sources said.
Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway, Eerya Bhukya Vishwanath, said the cleanliness challenge at the stations in Chennai was a success. “We completed it in 14 minutes time. This way we can quickly take to the next destination and we will save time. For cleaning, We have engaged four employees each per coach,” he added.
