The East Coast Railway on Monday (July 15) announced plans to operate special trains this month for two key rituals at the Lord Jagannath temple in Puri. Indian Railways is set to run 43 special trains for Sunabhesa (golden attire) and 33 special trains for Adharapana (sweet water offering) to facilitate passenger travel.
These train services will be available in addition to regular services to and from Puri.
Details of special trains to Puri
According to officials, special trains will depart towards Puri from Paradeep, Angul, Bhadrak, Junagarh Road, Khurda Road, Daspalla, Sompeta, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, Gunupur, Jagadalpur, Sonepur, and Sambalpur for Sunabhesa on July 17.
Similarly, trains originating from Paradeep, Angul, Bhadrak, Daspalla, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, and Khurda Road will be scheduled to Puri on Adharapana day on July 18.
To accommodate the passenger rush, East Coast Railway will also operate special trains from Puri to Bhadrak, Paradeep, Angul, Palasa, Kendujhargarh, Daspalla, and Brahmapur on July 19.
