The Eastern Railway on Tuesday (July 9) announced that the railway has generated more than Rs 953 crore in passenger revenue during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024-25.
9.97% increase in revenue
According to a statement issued by the official, the Eastern Railway achieved a notable 9.97% increase in revenue from passenger traffic compared to the same period last year.
The statement also added that passenger earnings in the first quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year amounted to Rs 953.24 crore.
“Passenger revenue for the first quarter of 2024-25 stands at Rs 953.24 crore, compared to Rs 866.79 crore earned during the same period of the last fiscal,” the official stated in a statement.
The railway saw a total of 2,87,654 originating passengers during the April-June 2024 period, marking a 3.36% rise from the previous year’s figure of 2,78,309.
