The redevelopment of the Lalitpur Junction Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh falls under the Indian government’s ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’. This project aims to rejuvenate and revitalize a total of 1,309 railway stations throughout India, ushering in a new era of transformation and vibrancy.

On Tuesday, the Indian Railways took to X, formerly Twitter, to share a glimpse of the progress of the redevelopment project at the Lalitpur Junction Railway Station. Captioning the post, the ministry wrote, “A magnificent transformation of Lalitpur Junction Railway Station, Uttar Pradesh is in full swing. Upon completion, the station will offer numerous modern facilities to ensure the comfort and convenience of passengers.”

Amrit Bharat Station Scheme

The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, August 6, 2023, is poised to rejuvenate and modernize 1309 railway stations throughout the country. This initiative aims to rejuvenate travel hubs, elevating the overall passenger experience, and envisions the ongoing, long-term development of these stations.

Earlier this year, 21 stations were identified under the scheme in the North Central region. The region will see Agra Cantt, Agra Fort, Aligarh, Allahabad Jn., Etawah, Gwalior, Jhansi, Kanpur Central, Mathura Jn., Tundla, Mirzapur, Banda, Morena, Raja Ki Mandi, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Naini, Babina, Chitrakut Dham Karvi, Lalitpur and Orai railway stations undergo redevelopment.
