Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the transformation of Begumpet railway station in Telangana is going on at a fast pace. After completion, the station will provide advanced passenger amenities, said the Ministry of Railways, on Thursday.

“The envisaged transformation of Begumpet railway station, Telangana, is taking shape. Upon completion, the station will boast a modern facade, an improved circulating area, and advanced passenger amenities,” said the ministry in a social media post on X. It also shared some photos.

Station code BMT, Begumpet railway station is in Begumpet, Secunderabad. It has two platforms and two railway tracks. It comes under the South Central Railway zone and Secunderabad division of the Indian Railways. It is electrified.

In another related but different development, the upgradation work at Secunderabad Railway Station in Telangana is also going on swiftly. It also comes under the South Central Railway zone and Secunderabad division.

Secunderabad Junction is an NSG–1 category Indian railway station and is the major railway station in Hyderabad, Telangana. It has 10 platforms and 11 railway tracks. In South India, it is one of the busiest railway stations. In 1874, during the British era, it was built by the Nizam of Hyderabad. In 1951, the station was taken over by Indian Railways.
