Restoration work is in full swing after eight coaches of the Agartala-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) Express derailed at Diblong station on Thursday. The incident occurred at 4 PM in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section, under the Lumding division of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR). Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.

Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR, shared details about the derailment, stating, “The train left Agartala at 7:20 AM and derailed around 4:00 PM at Diblong station, which serves as a gateway to Lumding. Fortunately, there was no loss of life, and no passengers were injured. We have arranged an alternative train to transport all passengers to their destination.”

Relief Measures and Progress in Restoration

Immediate relief measures were taken for the stranded passengers, who were evacuated safely and provided with food and water. The railways have already started the relief and restoration work, and officials are optimistic that train services will resume normal operations soon.

The cause of the derailment is under investigation, and further updates will follow as the situation progresses.
