For many NRIs, moving back to India after living abroad for years or even decades is a dream. It is about reconnecting with family, going back to their roots, and settling in the country they once called home. But it is rare for someone who has been away for so long to want to leave India again so soon.

A recent social media post perfectly captures the situation of an NRI who returned to India after many years abroad but is now looking to move to another country as quickly as possible.

Why does he want to move to another country?

He has lived in the US for over a decade and was excited to return to India so that he can be closer to his parents. However, he is tired of poor infrastructure, air pollution, unregulated traffic, and a lack of civic sense.

Despite being financially independent and following the 4% rule, he also explains the pathetic issues including work culture to the difficulty of finding healthy food, have drained their energy and peace of mind.

“I moved back primarily for my child to spend time with their grandparents, but now, I’m finding it harder to adjust than I anticipated. The daily frustrations have made it difficult to focus on my personal and professional goals,” the post reads.

He is currently in the process of launching a SaaS product, expressed a desire to relocate again in search of a better quality of life. They are seeking recommendations for immigration-friendly countries that offer strong infrastructure, healthcare, education, and a pathway to citizenship, preferably without requiring a hefty investment visa. They are looking for a place where they can focus on building their product in a peaceful and supportive environment.

‘It is extremely unfortunate’

Netizens also posted their comments. A user noted, “I have been experiencing the same feelings. I have worked all my career in Indian companies but have travelled the world for work purposes and I resonate all points you mentioned.”

“I would advise you not to move out of India, but shift to America within India. I live in one enclave. These enclaves are called gated societies, and this is what you are looking for. From your description, it looks like you are a remote employee like me, which is great, because you can spend most of your time inside the enclave without coming out to see the chaos,” added another.

“Chennai is far better than most cities in my opinion. But sadly, the comparison of Chennai is not with any other Indian city. I couldn’t help with the constant comparison with the quality I had there in USA. I’m trying to come out of this and trying to accept. It’s more hard than I thought,” opined a user.

“I understand. Dubai might be the only place you could look at. Southeast Asia is another but im not sure how your kid will fit in there,” explained a netizen.
