An Indian entrepreneur has gone viral on Reddit after sharing a detailed strategy he used to get his B1/B2 US tourist visa approved—despite holding an approved I-140, a decade-long US stay, and two Green Card-holder brothers in America.

The 33-year-old, who attended his visa interview at the US Consulate in Hyderabad on May 8, 2025, opened up about what he called a “complex profile” and offered advice to others facing similar red flags. “Many of us get denied under Section 214(b),” he wrote. “But red flags aren’t automatic denials if you’re prepared.”

His core strategy focused on addressing the presumption of immigrant intent by demonstrating strong ties to India. He advised applicants to know their DS-160 form inside out, keep all answers consistent, and never hide potentially concerning details like an I-140 approval. “Mention it transparently—it builds trust,” he wrote.

The entrepreneur also stressed the importance of articulating your travel plan with precision. He confidently told the Visa Officer: “I’m visiting Chicago for 15 days to meet my brothers and will return to Hyderabad on June 4th.”

To counterbalance his strong US ties, he quickly pivoted to his life in India: “But I’m settled in Hyderabad, running a business here and getting married in January.” He explained that an upcoming wedding and a stable business showed clear reasons to return.

He recommended carrying proof of everything—from business ownership to engagement photos—while only presenting documents if asked. “Just having them boosts your confidence,” he noted.

His takeaway: stay calm, answer clearly, dress well, and lead with honesty. His story is now inspiring others navigating the same uncertainties, proving that with the right approach, even complex profiles can win visa approval.
