Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday (March 6) shared a video of himself travelling on the Airport Express Line of the Delhi metro network on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter. In the tweet, the Union Minister revealed that he travelled from Shivaji Stadium Metro Station to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector – 25 Metro Station.
Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line
Delhi Metro plays a pivotal role in connecting various parts of the city and providing a reliable means of travel for commuters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the extended Airport line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station at YashoBhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 on September 17, 2023.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation(DMRC), with the addition of this section, the total length of the Airport Express Line from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 will become 24.9 km, encompassing seven Metro stations.
These stations include New Delhi (interchange with Yellow Line), Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aerocity, Airport (T-3), Dwarka Sec-21 (interchange with Blue Line), and Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector – 25. The Airport Express Line corridor operates a fleet of eight trains, each consisting of six coaches. Trains are available at a frequency of 10 minutes in this section.
