YashoBhoomi Inauguration: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first phase of India International Convention Centre, named YashoBhoomi, on September 17, 2023. Yashobhoomi encompasses a vast project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters, establishing itself as one of the world’s largest MICE destinations.

Delhi Metro connectivity to YashoBhoomi

Following the inauguration of the new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25 today, YashoBhoomi will be linked to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station named ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’. Delhi Metro will enhance the operational speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line from 90 to 120 km/hr, reducing travel time. The complete journey from ‘New Delhi’ to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ will take approximately 21 minutes.

YashoBhoomi Convention Centre: Key Features

  • The Convention Center, with a seating capacity exceeding 11,000 delegates, comprises 15 convention rooms, the Grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms.
  • According to official reports, the Convention Center in Yashobhoomi is equipped with the largest LED media facade in the country.
  • The convention center has been constructed using materials and elements inspired by Indian culture, such as terrazzo floors featuring brass inlays representing rangoli patterns, suspended sound-absorbing metal cylinders, and illuminated patterned walls.
  • The main auditorium has a seating capacity of 6,000 people, while the grand ballroom can accommodate an additional 2,500 guests. There is also an extended open area that can seat up to 500 people.
  • ‘Yashobhoomi’ also offers one of the world’s most expansive Exhibition halls. These Exhibition halls, spanning over 1.07 lakh square meters, will be utilized for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events. They are connected to a grand foyer space, uniquely designed with a copper ceiling that filters light through various skylights.
  • The auditorium in Yashobhoomi features one of the most innovative automated seating systems, allowing for a flat floor or an auditorium-style tiered seating arrangement to accommodate different seating configurations.
  • The use of wooden floors and acoustic wall panels in the auditorium ensures a world-class experience for visitors.
