Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who turned 73 yesterday, hopped on the Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line on his way to inaugurate the Yashobhoomi convention centre in Dwarka on September 17. 

He took to X, formerly called Twitter, to share the images from his metro ride wherein he could be seen interacting with co-passengers, including children. PM Modi travelled on Delhi Metro from Dwarka Sector 21 station to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25 station. He inaugurated the new Metro station and had an informal interaction with workers at the station. A video showing his interaction was also shared on X.

PM Modi’s Delhi Metro ride in June

Yesterday was not the first time that the Prime Minister had taken a metro ride. Earlier in June, he went aboard the Delhi Metro to attend the centenary celebrations of the Delhi University. A video of his interaction with the youngsters surrounding him in the metro surfaced online. In the video, PM Modi could be seen asking a boy about his hometown and asked him if he had made any friends outside his home state. 

“On the way to the DU programme by the Delhi Metro. Happy to have youngsters as my co-passengers,” he had tweeted, sharing the photos from his journey.

Prime Minister’s Namma metro ride

In March, PM Modi went aboard Namma Metro when he inaugurated the  Krishnarajapuram-Whitefield Metro Line in Bengaluru. He boarded the train from Whitefield along with Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials after purchasing a ticket. He interacted with Metro employees, construction workers and government school students during his ride.

Metro ride in Maharashtra

Next up is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s metro ride in Maharashtra in January. He took the train ride from undavali Metro Station to Mogra in Mumbai on January 19, 2023. During the ride he interacted with students, daily commuters and shramjeevis involved in the construction of the metro.

He was accompanied by the Maharashtra Governor, Bhagat Singh Kohsyari, Chief Minister Eknath Shine and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
