Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Maharashtra on Saturday, October 5, to launch several development initiatives. These initiatives are worth over Rs 56,000 crore, as per his office. He will be inaugurating the Banjara Virasat Museum in order to celebrate the heritage of the Banjara community in Washim.
Besides this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects in Thane worth over Rs 32,800 crore.
Infrastructure projects
PM Modi will flag off a metro train at BKC Metro Station, which will run from BKC to Aarey JVLR on Mumbai Metro Line 3. He will also take a metro ride between the BKC and Santacruz stations, according to the PMO.
The BKC-Aarey JVLR section, part of Mumbai Metro Line 3, is a project valued at approximately Rs 14,120 crore. It will feature 10 stations, with nine being underground. In addition, he will lay the foundation stone for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, which is set to cost around Rs 12,200 crore. This project spans 29 kilometers and will include 20 elevated stations and two underground stations.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension, stretching from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane, with an estimated cost of Rs 3,310 crore. This project will enhance connectivity between South Mumbai and Thane.
He will also lay the foundation stone for Phase 1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project, which will involve constructing arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure, with a budget of Rs 2,550 crore.
Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for a new high-rise administrative building for the Thane Municipal Corporation, to be built at a cost of around Rs 700 crore. This centrally located building will house most municipal offices, as stated in the PMO’s release.
