Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently reviewed the progress of the upcoming mega ‘Film City’ which is coming up near Noida International Airport. On the sidelines of the groundbreaking ceremony in Lucknow, PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath visited the stall of the proposed film city. 

The Prime Minister after dedicating projects worth more than Rs 10 lakh crore on Monday, went around an exhibition to get an insight into the progress of major development projects across various sectors in Uttar Pradesh.

“Prime Minister Modi, who was accompanied by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also visited the Noida International Film City’s stall to find out more about the upcoming project,” an official said.

Deciphering Uttar Pradesh’s greenfield film city 

Film producer Boney Kapoor-backed Bayview Projects LLP and the Bhutani Group recently obtained the rights for the collaborative development of the greenfield film city. 

The film city will be constructed on over 1,000 acres (230 acres in the first phase) of land in Sector 21 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), along the Yamuna Expressway near Noida.

Under Phase 1 of the project, a total of 230 acres will be developed, which will include 75 acres (33%) of commercial and 155 acres (67 percent) of industrial area. 

Notably, the film city will have seven zones, including a production and studio space spanning 60 acres, a 20-acre film university, a factories and craftsmanship area on 15 acres, an administrative and creative hub on 10 acres along with a dedicated zone for entertainment and leisure, Bayview Projects mentioned.  

“Upon being fully functional, the film city project has the potential to become a focal point for multiple businesses and employment generation across vocations. This (the ground-breaking ceremony) was the perfect platform to unveil the designs of the International Film City in Noida. We are overwhelmed by the tremendous response and attention the project has garnered from businesses across sectors,” Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bhutani Infra, Ashish Bhutani stated.
