The residential areas in Delhi’s JJ colony in Bawana have been left severely waterlogged after the barrage of Munak canal in the north broke, ANI reported.

In a video shared by the agency, children could be seen playing, swimming in the flooded streets as people made their way, knee deep in water.

Responding to the flooding, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said the Delhi Jal Board officials are at the scene, adding that chief engineer of the Flood Department was instructed to visit the flooded area to assess how the Flood Department can assist the Jal Board in addressing the situation.

He added that the career lined channel (CLC) comes into Bawana and carries water from Haryana. The information about the embankment breaking was relayed to them at night.
