The final safety certification for the magenta line segment from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension has been received  by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday, according to officials. “All mandatory inspections of the section have also been done and the final safety certification has been received on Friday. Stipulations prescribed in the clearance will be observed and the date of opening of this section will be intimated after the same,” Dayal stated.

The DMRC’s Magenta Line connects Botanical Garden in Uttar Pradesh and Janakpuri in Delhi.

According to Anuj Dayal, principal executive director of DMRC, Phase 4’s Janakpuri West–Krishna Park Extension project is completed.

Additionally, DMRC has obtained the necessary safety approval for the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension stretch on the Magenta Line, allowing it to start operations under its ambitious Phase 4 project. The DMRC in its statement stated that all required inspections had been finished along with the 2.5 km Janakpuri West-Krishna Park Extension section’s construction. The date of the opening of the new stretch will be announced soon.

The Magenta Line is being extended as part of the Delhi Metro’s Phase 4 project, spanning 29.3 kilometres from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg. This route will be a major addition to the city’s transit infrastructure, with a total of 22 stops, including eight interchange stations. The single new station along the Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension line is Krishna Park Extension, and the entire length of the segment is underground.
