Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Friday rode the Delhi Metro to reach his office on Friday and shared pictures from the ride on X, formerly Twitter.
His journey started at the Dhansa Bus Metro Station in Najafgarh on the Grey Line and concluded at the Indraprastha metro station, the closest station to the Delhi Secretariat.
What did the minister say?
Sharing his experience Gahlot said that he enjoyed his ride, and also praised DMRC for their service. “Choosing to travel via public transport contributes to a sustainable and congestion-free city. I appreciate the excellent service provided by DMRC, ensuring a commendable travel experience,” he added.
In a post on X, Gahlot wrote hr beat the traffic via taking the Metro from dhansa stand metro station to IP metro station. He added that during his ride he interacted with the commuters and the DMRC and took feedback.
“The interchange at Dwarka was a breeze and needless to say, got to the Secretariat before time!” he wrote.
Delhi Metro’s Grey Line
As per a PTI report, the Dhansa Bus Stand metro station is a key stop on the Grey Line of the Delhi Metro. It was inaugurated on September 18, 2021.
Citing an official, the report said that before the launch of the Dhansa Bus Metro Station, the DMRC service extended only to Najafgarh Station, which commenced operations on October 4, 2019. The Grey Line has a total length of 4.9 km, the Grey Line has an average daily ridership of 18,859.
An official told PTI that the Delhi Metro network spans about 392.44 kilometres and has 288 stations, with an average daily ridership of 30 lakh.
