The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Sunday (February 18) announced the closure of entry and exit facilities at gate no. 2 of Chhattarpur metro station due to Phase-IV expansion work.
According to a DMRC official, this closure will remain in effect until the completion of Phase-IV construction. DMRC also shared the closure of the gate in a post on X. “Entry/Exit from Gate no. 2 at Chhattarpur Metro station has been closed for Phase 4 expansion work. Passengers are advised to use Gates 1 and 3 for entry/exit purposes,” it wrote.
DMRC’s expansion projects on three priority corridors
DMRC is currently engaged in construction activities on 65.2 km of three priority corridors, encompassing a total of 45 stations. These corridors include the ‘Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg’ extension (28.92 km) and the ‘Majlis Park-Maujpur’ extension (12.55 km), which are extensions of the operational ‘Magenta Line’ and ‘Pink Line’.
Additionally, the construction involves the creation of the ‘Aerocity-Tughlakabad’ corridor (23.62 km), referred to as the ‘Golden Line’, which will connect the operational ‘Violet Line’ and ‘Airport Line’ from their respective ends. Among these corridors, 28 km will be constructed underground, while the remaining portion will be elevated.
It may be noted that the Chhattarpur metro station is slated to become an interchange facility with the upcoming ‘Golden Line’.
