In response to heavy rainfall in Delhi, significant disruptions have been reported across transportation services in the city. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the closure of entry and exit at Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector – 25 Metro station due to adverse weather conditions. This closure affects commuters traveling through this key metro station, impacting daily commuting schedules.
Shuttle service to Delhi Airport suspended
Additionally, the shuttle service from Delhi Aerocity Metro station to Terminal 1-IGI Airport has been suspended until further notice. This suspension is part of precautionary measures taken by authorities to ensure passenger safety amidst the inclement weather.
Despite these disruptions, normal service continues on all other metro lines across Delhi, providing essential transportation for residents and travelers.
The DMRC advises passengers to stay updated with further announcements and to plan their journeys accordingly, considering the ongoing weather-related challenges affecting metro and airport services in the city.
Additionally, heavy rains swept through various parts of Noida, Gurgaon, and Delhi, causing waterlogging in several areas. Safdarjung and areas near AIIMS were particularly affected by incessant rainfall.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi until June 29, cautioning the public to avoid waterlogged areas and check traffic conditions on their commute routes. The IMD also indicated that favorable conditions for the onset of the Southwest monsoon have been observed in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
