Passengers on Namo Bharat trains can now rent power banks starting at Rs 50, according to a recent statement from NCRTC. The service has launched at Sahibabad RRTS station and will soon expand to other stations.

The rental power banks are equipped with three types of charging connectors—iPhone, micro USB, and C-port—making them compatible with various devices. Rental options include a basic plan for Rs 50 and an annual plan for Rs 1,199.

How to rent power banks at RRTS stations?

Commuters can rent a power bank and use it throughout their journey, returning it at any similar machine across the NCR. Automated machines for this service are being installed at RRTS stations.

The rental facility aims to meet the increasing demand for mobile phone charging, offering a convenient solution for commuters. In addition to power bank rentals, NCRTC is planning to introduce electric vehicle charging stations at various locations.

The power bank rental service is available in the unpaid area of Sahibabad station, so passengers do not need a train ticket to use it. To access this service, users must install the ‘A3 Charge’ mobile app, register with their phone number, and use the app to locate and interact with the nearest power bank machine via a QR code.

Daily power bank swaps available

Rental plans allow users to exchange their power bank daily for a fully charged one. The app provides real-time information on power bank availability and machine slots to ensure a smooth experience.

“People can charge their mobile phones by renting a power bank from designated machines. Various rental plans are available, allowing you to choose the one that best suits your needs. Power bank machines have already been installed at many locations, and they will soon be fully operational at the designated sites,” the statement said.

Additionally, every coach on the Namo Bharat train is equipped with charging ports for mobile phones, and the premium coach features laptop charging ports. The service is managed by ‘DB-RRTS Operations India’, which focuses on passenger comfort and amenities.
