JSW Motors and KPIT Technologies have entered into a strategic partnership to build the software and digital infrastructure for JSW’s new energy vehicle portfolio.

JSW Motors, the newly launched automotive division of the JSW Group, is investing $3 billion over the next five years to develop and manufacture electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid vehicles in India. The company’s first new energy vehicle is expected to debut on Indian roads in the second half of FY26. JSW is developing a 630-acre automotive hub in Bidkin, Maharashtra. JSW Motors will leverage KPIT’s extensive experience, having worked on over 2,000 vehicle production programmes, including several software-defined vehicle initiatives.

KPIT Technologies

Kishor Patil, MD and CEO of KPIT Technologies, said the firm will contribute advanced competencies in electric propulsion systems, battery innovation, and software-defined vehicle architectures that enable continuous feature upgrades and enhanced consumer experiences. According to Patil, this will be a three-year partnership, focused on JSW’s main vehicle programme. Initial revenue contributions from KPIT are expected in the next quarter on a small scale, with growth anticipated thereafter. This deal was part of KPIT’s focus on the growing markets of India and China, Patil added.

JSW Motors

Ranjan Nayak, CEO of JSW Motors, said the collaboration would energise the Indian automotive ecosystem. KPIT will establish a dedicated centre of excellence for JSW Motors. JSW aims to build world-class automotive products in India by integrating the best technologies from around the world. KPIT’s expertise in software and systems development is crucial to their strategy for delivering best-in-class, technologically advanced, high-performance, and sustainable vehicles, he said.
