Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, will earn between Rs 10 crore and Rs 20 crore annually as Executive Director of Reliance Industries, according to a shareholder notice issued by the company. In addition to his salary, Anant will receive a commission based on company profits and several high-value perks.
He was appointed as Executive Director of Reliance Industries on April 25, 2025, subject to shareholder approval through a postal ballot. His five-year term began on May 1.
First among siblings to get executive role
Anant, 30, is the first among the Ambani siblings to be elevated to an executive role on the board. In August 2023, all three children—Akash, Isha, and Anant—were appointed as non-executive directors of Reliance Industries. As non-executive directors, they each received a sitting fee of Rs 4 lakh and a commission of Rs 97 lakh in FY24.
While Akash Ambani currently chairs Jio Infocomm and oversees the Mumbai Indians IPL team, Isha Ambani leads Reliance’s retail, e-commerce, and luxury verticals. All three siblings also serve as directors on the boards of Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures.
Breakdown of Anant Ambani’s salary and perks
Anant Ambani’s total package includes housing benefits (either furnished accommodation or house rent allowance), maintenance and utility allowances, and leave travel concession for him and his family.
Reliance will also reimburse medical expenses, business travel costs (including those for his spouse and attendants), and provide company cars, home communication services, and personal security for Anant and his family.
“In addition to the salary, perquisites, and allowances, Anant M. Ambani shall be entitled to receive remuneration based on net profits,” the shareholder notice said.
The HR, Nomination, and Remuneration Committee will determine the final package and annual increments. Reliance clarified that the combined remuneration to all executive directors will not exceed one per cent of the company’s net profits annually.
Anant Ambani’s role and contributions
Anant Ambani has been part of Reliance since 2015, after graduating from Brown University. He is currently responsible for the company’s energy vertical, which includes both traditional oil and gas operations and newer green energy projects, such as solar panel manufacturing and compressed biogas (CBG) plants.
He has led major capital projects in the vinyl and specialty polyester sectors and helped commission the first GW+ solar module line and a CBG plant within just 10 months. He is also involved in talent management, real estate, and sustainability efforts aimed at achieving Net Carbon Zero by 2035.
Beyond business, Anant is also engaged with the Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Vantara, a Reliance Foundation initiative for wildlife rescue and conservation.
