Tata Digital’s new CEO, Naveen Tahilyani has put in place a new team for the company’s super app, Neu. The development comes after several senior executives quit the company recently. The new structure is effective from Monday. According to an internal mail to the employees, majority of the positions have been filled with existing team members.

Among the major changes, Gaurav Motani has been named the new chief product officer and Hardeep Singh Guru, as the chief financial officer. Seshadri Narsimhan has been appointed as chief business officer of key verticals like grocery, health, fashion, and new growth initiatives. Abhimanyu Lal has been named the chief of marketing, while Pavan Bargal is head of supply chain.

“We have constructed a structure for the executive team which is built on principles of giving our leaders meaningful opportunity for impact, creating accountability alongwith empowerment, driving simplicity and clarity and most importantly encouraging collaboration and working together within Tata Digital and with our subsidiaries/group companies,” Tahilyani said in the mail.

He added that over the next few days, he will work closely with each of the leaders to announce their team structures.

Tata Digital’s super app, Neu hasn’t exactly taken off in the manner the company had expected it to. Launched in April, 2022, Neu’s contribution remains less than 10% to the gross sales of bigBasket and epharmacy 1mg.

“We will have to work on a few aspects to win the hearts and mind of our customers –fine tune the loyalty programme, invest in and leverage data for offers, find a better way to convey our proposition to the customers, improve customer experience while creating new value propositions, and use financial services smartly to enhance customers stickiness. We will have to be razor sharp about our priorities and execute our strategic initiatives with rigour and discipline,”  Tahilyani wrote.
