Save for a couple of limited editions and an AWD (all-wheel drive) version, Renault Duster hasn’t received any significant updates ever since its launch in 2011. Though the company is now finally contemplating to give a mid-life makeover to its top-selling car to counter its rivals like Hyundai Creta and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Likely to make its debut at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2016, the Renault Duster facelift will be launched right after that.

Besides cosmetic changes, the 2016 Renault Duster will also get an automated manual transmission. Called the Easy-R AMT, it will be a 5-speed gearbox. Being a slightly more affordable technology than the regular automatic transmissions, we can expect the Duster Automatic to be priced competitively against its closest rival – the Hyundai Creta AT.

As mentioned earlier, the 2016 Renault Duster facelift will also go through some cosmetic changes. Similar to the Brazilian-spec model, the India-bound version will feature a new single piece grille, new head-light cluster, revised bumper, new alloy wheels and new tail-lamps. The compact SUV’s cabin too could receive some changes with added features.

There will not be any changes made to the engines, as the same 1.5-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol engine will continue to be on offer in the same states of tunes.
