After seeing 15-16% y-o-y growth in the vegetable seed business in India, Monsanto Holdings Pvt will invest Rs 100 crore over the next four years on research and development in this segment. “We are a technology company at the end of the day and we have to step-up our investment in research and development. We have invested Rs 23-25 crore each year over the last three years and it will continue to rise over the years to bring disease-resistant hybrid varieties,” Prashant Hegde, Asia vegetable business lead, said.
