L&T Construction on Tuesday said that its Transportation Infrastructure business vertical has received a large order in the range of Rs 2500 crore- Rs 5000 crore. The Dahisar Bhayander Bridge project in Mumbai was awarded to the company by Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for construction of a 4.5 km long bridge connecting Dahisar and Bhayander. “The project will significantly reduce the travel time between Dahisar and Bhayander which currently takes more than 45 minutes,” the company said.
The 4.5 km link will have two separate carriageways and multi-level interchange and Dahisar and Bhayander for seamless entry and exit. The project will also have two large navigational spans along the creek. L&T is already executing two packages of the prestigious Mumbai Coastal Road projects, for Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM), the company informed.
According to the company, the value of significant order is between Rs 1000 crore and Rs 2500 crore, large orders are worth Rs 2500 crore- Rs 5000 crore, major orders are in the range of Rs 5000 crore- Rs 7000 crore and mega orders are worth above Rs 7000 crore.

Earlier, the company’s newly-appointed Chairman & Managing Director S N Subrahmanyan, in a letter to employees, said that L&T’s order book is robust, market cap and share price are at their highest levels.
