HTC Desire 12 has been in news for quite some time, along with another HTC smartphone dubbed HTC U12, the successor to HTC U11. While previous rumours suggested that HTC will launch HTC U12, it was later reported that HTC U12 is unlikely to launch at MWC event, instead the HTC Desire 12 will be unveiled. In addition to the previously leaked specifications of HTC Desire 12, its price, availability and additional specification details have come to light, thanks to a retail box image that has surfaced online.

According to the retail box image that is claimed to have been obtained by Android Authority, the HTC Desire will come with mid-range specifications. The HTC Desire 12 will sport a quad-core MediaTek processor paired with 3GB of RAM with support for storage expandability up to 2TB. It will come with a 5.5-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) display and support for dual SIM cards (Nano). The HTC Desire 12 will sport 12-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and support for full-HD (1080p) video recording. There will be a 5-megapixel front camera on the device featuring a BSI sensor. The device will be backed by a 2730mAh battery while the connectivity options are Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and 4G LTE among others.

Previously, Evan Blass tipped the specifications of an HTC device codenamed ‘Breeze’, which will be introduced in the market as HTC Desire 12. He also revealed the specifications that included a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, 8-megapixel front camera, 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage, and Android 8.0 Oreo. In addition to this, the HTC Desire 12 will feature a thin bezel design to catch up with the larger-than-usual display trend.

HTC U12, which was earlier reported to be launched at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, will now see a delayed launch as HTC could unveil HTC Desire 12 to fill its place at the world’s biggest tech convention. It made an appearance at the 5G Summit where it was seen featuring a thin bezel design along with topline specifications.
