Hindustan Zinc reported 13.84 per cent YoY profit growth in the second quarter of FY26. The Vedanta Group company posted a net profit of Rs 2,649 crore in Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 2,327 crore in Q2 FY25. 

Furthermore, Hindustan Zinc reported a revenue of Rs 8,282 crore in Q2 FY26, its highest-ever second-quarter revenue. The company’s revenue from operations grew 3.47 per cent YoY as the revenue in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year was Rs 8,004 crore. 

Hindustan Zinc’s EBITDA stood at Rs  4,467 crore in Q2 FY26, up 7 per cent  YoY 1, and its  EBITDA margin was at 52 per cent.  

Operational growth

Hindustan Zinc said that it recorded the highest-ever mined metal production of 523 Kt i  the quarter. Silver production accounted for approximately 40 per cent of the company’s overall profit. 

“We have delivered the best-ever second quarter mined metal production with a 5-year lowest zinc cost of production of $994 per tonne, reflecting the continuous operational excellence, technology intervention and dedication of our people”, Arun Misra, Chief Executive Officer of Hindustan Zinc, said in a statement.

The company stated that it has completed cellhouse debottlenecking at the Dariba Smelting Complex. Furthermore, the completion of debottlenecking at the Chanderiya Lead Zinc Smelter is expected by 3Q FY26. Together, they will increase the overall metal capacity by 21,000 tonnes per annum.

Additionally, the 510 Ktpa fertiliser plant of Hindustan Zinc is under progress and is expected to be completed by 1QFY27
