The Federation of Hotels & Restaurants Association of India (FHRAI) unveiled its Vision plan, aimed at driving policy advocacy, enhancing industry standards, and fostering excellence in the hospitality sector. This strategic plan is designed to positively impact all stakeholders of FHRAI nationally and internationally, ushering in a new era of growth and innovation in the hospitality landscape, it said.
FHRAI’s vision for 2024 encompasses the establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality (CETH), envisioned as a leading national resource centre for tourism research and knowledge dissemination. Through research excellence and evidence-based policy advocacy, CETH aims to support India’s tourism sector in achieving global competitiveness and sustainability. With a focus on research excellence, CETH will undertake comprehensive studies, publish research papers, and disseminate information to stakeholders across the tourism ecosystem.
CETH’s programs and activities include research publications, policy dialogues, thematic conferences, investment facilitation, and the promotion of sustainability initiatives. In terms of financial viability, CETH aims to become a self-sustainable entity by leveraging revenue streams such as research assignments, publications, events, and consultancy services. By establishing itself as a trusted source of expertise and knowledge, CETH seeks to attract funding and partnerships that support its mission and ensure its long-term impact in the tourism sector, FHRAI said in a statement.
“Our aim with the establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality (CETH) is to revolutionise the industry by fostering a culture of innovation, research, and collaboration. CETH will serve as a hub for cutting-edge research, policy advocacy, and knowledge dissemination, addressing critical challenges and driving the sector towards global competitiveness and sustainability. By fostering collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and academia, CETH will spearhead evidence-based solutions and drive policy advocacy to shape the future of the industry.” said Pradeep Shetty, President, FHRAI.
To further solidify their service towards skill development, FHRAI is equipping the FHRAI Institute of Hospitality Management (IHM) with state-of-the-art facilities, fostering collaborations and through sustained quality improvement efforts to support hospitality education in India and prepare future leaders for the dynamic industry landscape.
