Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited, has secured a Rs 2,500-crore order from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for unmanned and marine systems, marking a major boost to India’s indigenous defence manufacturing drive.
The order, placed under the fast-track procurement norms, is expected to be executed within one year, by November 2026.
Over the past five years, KSSL has built strong capabilities in the design, development, and production of unmanned marine systems, including autonomous underwater vehicles currently deployed by the Indian Navy.
The company said the underwater domain remains a key focus area, alongside naval guns and marine equipment, as it continues to expand its technological base to cater to the Navy’s urgent and mission-critical needs.
