At Infosys, Ranganath MD takes over as CFO as Rajiv Bansal exits; top 5 things to know

During the announcement of Infosys Q2 results 2015, CEO Vishal Sikka revealed that Ranganath MD (D. Mavinakere) has taken over as the CFO (designate) after the current CFO Rajiv Bansal quit. Here are 5 things to know about Ranganath MD:

1. Till now Ranganath MD was an Executive Vice President and the Head of Strategic Operations, encompassing the functions of Strategy Planning, Risk Management, Corporate Marketing, and M&A.
2. Ranganath MD, until recently, led the cost optimization initiative of the company as part of the Chairman’s Office.

2. From January 2008 to July 2013, Ranganath MD was the Chief Risk Officer (CRO). In this role, he worked with the Board’s Risk Management and Audit Committee to enable the Board’s overview of risk management and governance.

3. Prior to this, Ranganath MD was Head of the Domain Competency Group, where he led a group of industry consultants. He directly worked with global financial services clients on several projects.

4. From 1991 to 1999, Ranganath MD worked with ICICI Limited, where he was Senior Vice President of Treasury and Planning.

5. Ranganath MD has a post graduate diploma in management (PGDM) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a master’s degree in technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is an Associate Member of CPA, Australia.
