In a significant milestone for India’s burgeoning space-tech sector, GalaxEye, a pioneering startup specializing in earth observation satellites, has inked a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe). This collaboration, formalized through a signing ceremony at IN-SPACe’s facility in Ahmedabad on May 1,  2024, heralds a new era in space exploration and technology development.

Under the terms of the MoU, GalaxEye becomes the first beneficiary of IN-SPACe’s cutting-edge coworking and testing space in Ahmedabad. This partnership grants GalaxEye access to ISRO’s state-of-the-art laboratories and testing facilities, bolstering its efforts to develop India’s first private constellation of Earth observation satellites.

GalaxEye, known for its innovative approach to space technology, aims to launch its flagship satellite, Drishti Mission, within the next year. This satellite promises to be India’s first and the world’s highest-resolution multi-sensor imaging satellite, equipped with the proprietary “Drishti Sensor” technology. This advanced sensor technology enables high-quality imaging even in adverse weather conditions, revolutionizing the field of earth observation.

Suyash Singh, Co-founder and CEO of GalaxEye, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “This collaboration marks a transformative chapter in space exploration. By leveraging IN-SPACe’s facilities, we are poised to revolutionize data gathering and analysis from Earth’s orbit. Our goal is to deploy India’s first privately-led cluster of Earth observation satellites, enhancing our ability to monitor climate patterns, urban development, and natural phenomena with unprecedented precision.”

Beyond its significance for India’s space industry, this partnership holds global implications. By improving the reliability and quality of satellite imagery, even under adverse weather conditions, it promises to revolutionize decision-making for businesses and governments worldwide. Moreover, it aligns with the ‘Make in India for the World’ initiative, reinforcing India’s position as a global leader in space technology and its applications for societal benefit.

With GalaxEye’s innovative spirit and IN-SPACe’s resources, this partnership is poised to reshape the global technology landscape, ensuring the widespread benefits of space technology for humanity.
