To review tactical and operational preparedness, Daljit Singh Chaudhary, Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), visited the Indo-Bangladesh border. Accompanied by Additional Director General Ravi Gandhi and Inspector General Maninder PS Pawar, the visit focused on key locations including the Integrated Check Post (ICP) Petrapole and the highly sensitive Border Outpost (BOP) Ranaghat of the 68th Battalion in North 24 Parganas District.

At ICP Petrapole, the Director General and his team assessed the operational challenges faced by the troops at the Passenger and Cargo Terminals. The Officiating Commanding Officer of the 145th Battalion briefed them on the battalion’s operational procedures, highlighting the complexities of managing the border area.

The delegation then proceeded to the Ranaghat BOP, where they met with BSF officers to discuss the current situation in Bangladesh. With the recent developments in the neighboring country, the focus was on strengthening border security to prevent illegal infiltration and smuggling. Chaudhary emphasized the need for increased vigilance and effective measures to counter these challenges.

Concluding his visit, Chaudhary addressed the officers and jawans in a Sainik Sammelan, where he provided clear instructions for maintaining high alertness and preparedness. He stressed the importance of being ready to respond to any emerging situation, given the volatile conditions in Bangladesh.

This visit underscores the BSF’s commitment to ensuring strong security measures and maintaining operational efficiency in one of India’s most sensitive border areas.
