France headquartered Dassault Systèmes, a world leader in Virtual Twin Experience, has announced a major collaboration with Apple to integrate Apple Vision Pro with its cutting-edge 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This partnership is set to bring groundbreaking advancements to industries across the globe by combining spatial computing with Dassault’s generative AI-powered experiences.

The announcement was made today (Feb 25, 2025) at Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Forum in Houston, an annual event that gathers industrial customers from the globe. The new collaboration focuses on the 3D UNIV+RSES, which will offer users an immersive and interactive experience, unlocking unprecedented possibilities in sectors such as manufacturing, life sciences, and urban planning.

Significance

Through the integration of Apple Vision Pro, Dassault Systèmes aims to push the boundaries of virtual twin technology, bringing a new dimension to the digital representations of real-world objects and environments. The result of this deep engineering-level collaboration is the new “3DLive” app, powered by the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, which will be available this summer. This app according to company officials will allow users to visualize and collaborate on 3D models in real time, and even bring these virtual twins into physical spaces using spatial computing.

Transforming Industries with 3DLive and Spatial Computing

“3DLive brings a new dimension to virtual twins, allowing real-time visualization and collaboration in lifelike environments,” said Elisa Prisner, Executive Vice President – Corporate Strategy & Platform Transformation at Dassault Systèmes. “This is a bold advance that reveals the power of 3D UNIV+RSES, where 3D is a universal language for a new world combining real and virtual.”

The combination of Apple Vision Pro’s advanced cameras, sensors, and tracking technology allows virtual twins to seamlessly interact with the physical world, offering scientists, engineers, and designers an unprecedented level of scientific accuracy in their work.

Whether for product design, simulation, manufacturing, or training, Dassault Systèmes’ virtual twin technology, powered by spatial computing, can enhance collaboration, accelerate decision-making, and improve product quality.

Tom Acland, Chief Executive of Dassault’s 3DEXCITE unit, also highlighted the practical applications of the collaboration. “For example, maintenance engineers could virtually walk through a manufacturing facility before the equipment arrives. This allows them to detect potential issues with machine accessibility, helping to avoid costly delays later in the process,” Acland noted.

A New Era for Digital Twins

Dassault Systèmes is known for creating digital twins—highly accurate virtual replicas of real-world objects—used in industries like automotive, aerospace, and architecture. These virtual twins are essential for designers and engineers to test and refine their ideas before physical prototypes are built, saving both time and resources.

With this new collaboration, Dassault Systèmes is enhancing its virtual twin technology by incorporating Apple’s spatial computing and Vision Pro technology, ensuring that every detail is scientifically accurate.

“Collaborating with Apple has allowed us to tap into the immense potential of spatial computing, offering a more immersive, intuitive, and powerful way to interact with digital twins,” said Prisner. “This partnership holds incredible value for our diverse customer base, enabling them to explore the full potential of virtual twin data with AI-based experiences.”

What’s next for 3DEXPERIENCE users?

Enterprise customers will be able to access the 3DLive app for Apple Vision Pro this summer. In addition, Dassault Systèmes will also be releasing another Apple Vision Pro app—HomeByMe Reality. This app allows users to visualize, explore, and customize their home interiors in a fully immersive environment, providing a new level of realism and interaction for consumers and designers alike. HomeByMe Reality will also allow users to take virtual tours of real estate properties, offering a fresh, convenient way to experience homes and buildings remotely.
