Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Rakesh Kaul, managing director, Livpure, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
I am an ardent enthusiast of literature, dedicating a minimum of two hours daily to the pursuit of reading. This practice not only nourishes my intellect but also fosters a sense of connectivity with the world around me. Furthermore, I rigorously adhere to a disciplined routine of engaging in a brisk walk lasting approximately 50 to 60 minutes each morning. This regimen plays a pivotal role in maintaining my physical well-being and overall vitality.
How do you spend your weekends?
On weekends, my primary focus is on spending quality time with my family and my beloved dogs, Oscar and Rainbow, to whom I have a deep attachment. These moments with my four-legged family members hold a special place in my heart. Additionally, I’m highly enthusiastic about cricket, and I make it a point to dedicate my leisure time to practicing the sport on the field, equipped with my cricket gear. Cricket is a passion of mine, and I’m devoted to honing my skills. In addition to physical activity, I also make a conscious effort to practice meditation and yoga whenever I have some free time. These activities help me maintain a sense of calm and balance in the midst of life’s daily chaos.
What are your favourite gadgets?
I hold a profound appreciation for my iPad, iPhone, and Bose headphones. These gadgets not only bring me immense joy but also provide essential convenience and play pivotal roles in my everyday routines.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
I aspire to become a teacher and am committed to reaching remote and underprivileged areas to educate those in need. My passion for teaching drives me to make a meaningful difference by imparting knowledge and support to underserved communities, no matter how distant or challenging the circumstances may be.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
I have a deep fondness for mountainous landscapes, particularly those with hills and water streams, which become my preferred destinations. Among these, I have a special affection for the Kashmir Valley and Manali, both of which I cherish. Additionally, the breathtaking snow-capped mountains and pristine blue water streams in various parts of Switzerland captivate me.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching
In the recent past, my favourite series on Netflix has been ‘Fauda’ which revolves around the operations of Israeli counterintelligence units as they protect their nation from militants and terrorists. The show’s portrayal of their relentless efforts in defending their country has been particularly engaging and captivating to me.
