The Job
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my job is the opportunity to engage with individuals from all walks of life. It allows me to indulge in spirited debate with wonderful people with diverse perspectives. Managing three distinct companies, which are all very different in terms of functionality and operations from each other keeps me intellectually stimulated and invigorates my yearning to experiment. Every day provides me with a new challenge that needs to be resolved. I believe that amidst the chaos of daily life, it is my work that provides me with much-needed sanity and order.
The Weekdays
I have always been passionate about my businesses, leaving limited time for indulgences. I believe in living my life the Meraki way, which means doing something with total love and pure soul and leaving behind a little piece of yourself in your creative work. On a typical weekday, I juggle multiple team meetings for my three businesses Modicare, Colobar Cosmetics and 24Seven. I make it a point to interact with all my employees and discuss and strategise on challenges.
The Weekend
Getting free time on a weekend is a luxury in itself. Nevertheless, weekends rejuvenate me and allow me to refocus. I make it a point to catch up with my family and friends and unwind in my ‘me’ time. Cooking has always been a passion. Hence, I make time during the weekends to dabble with new recipes and cook for the people I love. I also shower my furry family members – my four schnauzers and my two labs – with extra love.
The Toys
I’m absolutely fascinated by how technology keeps evolving! Being an avid tech enthusiast, I always find myself drawn to the latest tech gadgets, basically anything funky. Among my favourites are the PS5, iPod and any new iPhone that comes out. The latest Leica camera has also captured my attention too. I am looking forward to seeing what the future of technology holds for us.
The Logos
When it comes to my favourite brands, I have a penchant for brands that exude a perfect blend of style, sophistication, and innovation. Naturally, I’m a fan of Steve Jobs and I adore Apple because the brand not only has an aesthetic user interface but also is high on functionality. For fashion, iconic brands and fashion houses like Hackett, Hugo Boss, Loro Piana, Gucci, Prada and Brioni stand out as my go-to choices for clothing. For luxury home decor, I find myself drawn to Tim Oulton, Jonathan Adler and Andrew Martin, as their collections showcase an exquisite fusion of classic and contemporary elements. In fact, Shanghai Tang, the Hong Kong Luxury Fashion House, holds a special place in my heart for its modern Chinese chic designs.
