The Job

It’s been over 15 years for me at Novartis. Fortunately, to this day, winning for patients keeps us excited. Breakthrough medicines and ensuring access to them for people needs us to stay at the forefront of innovation. That’s what my day would entail — being inspired, curious, unbossed and bold. I am also a strong advocate of building work-plus relationships.

The Weekdays

My days are quite structured to strike a balance between my work, personal time and fitness routine. I start my day early, usually around 5:30 am, dedicating the mornings to read and to plan the day ahead. I come to work around 7:30 am and leave by 5:30 – 6 pm. This ensures that I have enough time in the evening for my family and exercise regime.

The Weekend

Taking a routine pause and being engaged in extracurricular activities is quite important to me. I’m completely untied or free from the shackles of screens and interruptions during this time. These pauses are what really help you to de-stress. Formula One racing, cooking and a game of lawn tennis has always been a source of excitement for me, and I look forward to watching races over the weekends. If time permits, I indulge in the occasional Netflix binge.

The Toys

While my work often requires me to embrace technology and it is highly reliant on my portable devices, especially the smartphone, I must admit that I find great solace in escaping the digital world. I have a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, such as reading a good book. I enjoy the hardcovers! I find that immersing myself in the world of literature offers a welcome respite from the constant stream of notifications.

The Logos

I’m a huge fan of Apple. More often it doesn’t make one feel digitally challenged with the constantly evolving stream of technology. I am also a strong advocate for supporting local and artisanal brands that prioritise craftsmanship. These brands often tell stories of heritage and dedication to their craft, which I find deeply inspiring.
