Air India is operating a special flight from Milan in Italy to bring stranded 256 passengers who have been stuck there since last Friday to Delhi. The legacy AI Boeing 787 Dreamliner (VT-ANN) earlier developed a technical issue on landing in Milan due to which it could not operate the return flight to Delhi, stranding all passengers who were coming home for Diwali.
“Air India will operate an additional flight from Milan to Delhi today, 19 October, to accommodate passengers of flight AI138, which was cancelled on 17 October due to a technical issue,” the airline said on Sunday.

Passengers stranded in Milan
256 passengers and cabin crew members were made to stay at various hotels around Milan airport after Air India announced a last-minute flight cancellation. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner had developed ‘technical snags’ after reaching Milan airport — derailing travel plans for hundreds of Delhi-bound passengers.
Then, Air India said it had made temporary hotel arrangements and opted to rebook its passengers after the festival concluded on Monday. However, the new arrangement of flight would allow the passengers to celebrate Diwali.
