Following the growing tensions in Iran after Israel struck several regions and reports of active nuclear enrichment facility surfaced, Air India issued a travel advisory for flights to or from Indian origins.
Due to the developing situation in Iran and the closure of its airspace, Air India has diverted or returned several flights to ensure passenger safety. Flights affected include key-locations such as Mumbai, London, New York, Sharjah, Delhi, Frankfurt, Chicago, Washington and Toronto.

What went down?
Tensions between Iran and the global community intensified after Tehran announced the launch of a third nuclear enrichment facility, just hours following a rare censure from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), its first in 20 years, over Iran’s noncompliance with nuclear nonproliferation standards. In response, Iran’s Foreign Ministry and Atomic Energy Organization released a joint statement saying the country was compelled to act against what it called a “political resolution.” Shortly after, Israel initiated Operation Rising Lion, launching strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Explosions were reported across Tehran early Friday, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowing that operations would continue “as long as necessary to eliminate the threat.”
This comes after a deadly incident in India that took over 260 lives of passengers flying to London via an Air India flight. It crashed in a college hostel in Ahmedabad.
