In a first in Indian aviation, Vistara announced that it will now offer 20 minutes of complimentary Wi-Fi on its international flights. The service will be available on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A321neo aircraft flights across all cabin classes. 

With this, Vistara is the first airline in India to introduce this feature. 

The passengers will have the option to extend the service using their debit/credit cards.

In a post on X, the airlines said, “Don’t miss out on important updates even at 35000 ft. ! Get 20 minutes of complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi, a first in Indian Aviation. Now you can purchase the selected plans using Indian credit/debit cards in addition to internationally issued credit cards.”

It added that, in order to buy the plan, the passengers will have to ensure that their email address is registered and activated with their bank. They will receive an OTP on email to validate the purchase on board.

We are, yet again, delighted to lead the way and become the first Indian airline to offer complimentary Wi-Fi on international flights across all cabins. We are confident that customers will appreciate this value addition that aims to make their Vistara journey more convenient, productive, and seamless.”

The company states that Vistara’s international flights offer internet connectivity, including a complimentary chat facility for all Club Vistara members, regardless of their tier or cabin class, throughout the duration of the flight.

For other passengers, unlimited messaging on apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger is available for Rs 372.74 plus GST. To access the internet onboard, the airline charges Rs 1577.54 plus GST, which includes embedded audio and video streaming for social media and web content. For Rs 2707.04 plus GST, customers can enjoy unlimited data that supports all streaming protocols.
