SpiceJet has announced special daily non-stop Diwali flights connecting Ayodhya with Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad starting October 8. According to an official press release, the services will begin in a phased manner, offering devotees and tourists direct access to Ayodhya ahead of the festive season.
The airline said the new routes will make it easier for travellers to visit the Ram Temple during Diwali.
Direct flight from Mumbai to Ayodhya
Flights from Mumbai are also being considered to further enhance connectivity during the upcoming festive and winter season. SpiceJet said the expansion aligns with its efforts to make festive travel convenient, affordable and accessible for all.
“There could be no better occasion than Diwali to visit Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. Our new daily flights from key metros will ensure smooth and affordable access to Ayodhya during Diwali, allowing passengers to celebrate the festival in its most divine setting,” ANI reported quoting Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet.
New routes from Delhi and Mumbai to Thailand
Just days earlier, on September 29, SpiceJet announced the launch of daily non-stop flights to Phuket, Thailand’s largest and most popular island, from Delhi and Mumbai. The flights from Delhi will start on October 31, 2025, followed by Mumbai on November 6, 2025.
This marks SpiceJet’s second destination in Thailand after Bangkok and reinforces its growing international network. The airline said the new routes will give Indian travellers easier access to Thailand’s scenic beaches, vibrant nightlife, and cultural attractions.
This year, Diwali will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 21, with the main Lakshmi Puja taking place on the same day as per the Hindu lunisolar calendar.
