Madhya Pradesh is set to host the thrilling fourth edition of its Skydiving Festival in Ujjain district, beginning on November 9, 2024. The event, which will run for three months until February 9, 2025, promises an exhilarating experience for adventure enthusiasts, offering them the chance to enjoy stunning aerial views of the city of Mahakal from a height of 10,000 feet.
Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, the Minister for the Department of Culture, Tourism, and Religious Trusts and Endowment, emphasised that the skydiving experience would be conducted with the utmost safety standards, led by highly trained and experienced skydivers. He assured that the event would be safe, with the participation of a certified organisation and professional instructors.
How to book the slot?
Principal Secretary of the Department of Tourism and Culture, Shiv Shekhar Shukla, shared that this year’s edition is set to be even bigger following the success of the previous three editions. The festival will take place at Datana Airstrip, where skydiving activities will be conducted between 8 am and 5 pm each day. Skydiving enthusiasts can book their slots through the official website, www.skyhighindia.com.
This year, the festival will feature the use of a New CESSNA 182P aircraft, fully modified for skydiving, with a capacity to carry six individuals. Two participants, accompanied by two instructors, will take to the skies together for a truly unforgettable experience. Over 1,000 participants are expected to take part in the event over the three months, contributing to Madhya Pradesh’s growing appeal as a hub for adventure tourism.
What are the future plans?
Sky-high India, the certified organisation behind the event, is approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the United States Parachute Association (USPA), ensuring the highest standards of safety and professionalism. The festival is not just about skydiving—plans for other airbase activities in the future are also on the horizon, further enriching the state’s tourism offerings.
This exciting event is a must-visit for adventure lovers and will help boost the tourism sector in Madhya Pradesh, attracting both domestic and international visitors.
