British airline Virgin Atlantic on Tuesday (October 29) announced the launch of its second daily direct service from London Heathrow to Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, effective October 27.

The new service will be operated using Virgin Atlantic’s Airbus A350-1000, featuring three cabin classes: upper, premium, and economy. This addition marks Virgin Atlantic’s fifth daily flight on the London-Mumbai route, effectively doubling its capacity to meet the rising demand for premium travel between these major cities.

Daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore

The airline currently offers two daily flights from both Delhi and Mumbai, along with one service from Bangalore.

“India presents a tremendous opportunity for us, thanks to its dynamic and rapidly growing economy. Mumbai is an essential market for Virgin Atlantic, and we’ve witnessed significant demand for premium travel experiences on this route,” said Shivani Singh Deo, Country Manager at Virgin Atlantic.

Next year will mark 25 years of Virgin Atlantic’s operations in India, and the launch of the second daily flight from London to Mumbai underscores the airline’s commitment to providing exceptional service and connectivity for its valued customers in the region.

India has become Virgin Atlantic’s largest growth market outside the United States, highlighting the region’s importance to the airline’s global strategy. Looking ahead to 2025, Virgin Atlantic plans to operate nearly 1 million seats in India.
