A brand new airport is set to grace the city of Kota which will lead to a boost in tourism. The Airports Authority of India, Civil Aviation Authority of India and the Urban Development Department have signed the accord for the same. Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said that the state government will provide land for the airport construction for free. He further added that the Kota Airport will also benefit lakhs of residents of the Hadoti region. 

Government assistance & Development plan 

The construction, operation, and development of the airport will be managed by the Airport Authority of India. The Chief Minister has asked the Kota Development Authority to submit a detailed development plan for the adjoining areas near the proposed airport.

Currently, a detailed project is being prepared and tenders for the airport will be invited soon.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sharma has also asked the AAI to speed up the development work of a new state terminal at Jaipur Airport. He also announced that free land would be allocated for further enhancement of Udaipur Airport, approach road at Uttarlai (Barmer) airport, and development of a civil enclave.

With the latest development of the Kota Airport, a long pending demand for air facilities in the city will be met as it will help students and tourists at large.
