The Jaipur airport on Tuesday, June 18, received a bomb threat post which the security agencies carried out a thorough investigation.
Police and CISF conducted a search of the premises following a bomb threat received via email by the airport management.
“The airport was thoroughly checked but nothing suspicious has been found so far,” the police said.
A similar threat was received by the authorities in April. Earlier in the day, a private college received a bomb threat, which was later determined to be a hoax.
Bomb threat at Patna and Vadodara airport
Besides Jaipur, Patna and Vadodara airport received bomb threats via email.
The threat at the Patna airport turned out to be a hoax. After the threat was received a thorough search of the facility was conducted and security beefed up.
“A bomb threat through email was received at the Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport, besides 41 other airports. The Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) Meeting was convened…and it found the threat to be non-specific,” Airport Director Anchal Prakash said.
A senior police official said that the email was received at around 1:10 pm. “Security has been bolstered at the airport in the wake of the development,” they added.
Meanwhile, RD Chauhan, Inspector at Harni PS in Vadodara, stated that police teams are managing security at the airport in response to a bomb threat. Additionally, the Bomb Disposal Squad, Dog Squads, Ambulance, and Fire Tenders have arrived at the scene.
