India’s Heritage Aviation has placed an order for Airbus H125 and H130 helicopters to operate under the Government of India’s regional connectivity scheme, ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’ (UDAN). The Ministry of Civil Aviation has streamlined norms for helicopters in the UDAN scheme, making it more attractive for operators.

Rohit Mathur, CEO of Heritage Aviation, sees UDAN as a game-changer, stating, ”UDAN scheme is a sure shot game-changer and is proving to be a turning point for helicopters in India.”

Sunny Guglani, Head of Airbus Helicopters, Airbus India, and South Asia, acknowledges the significant impact of the UDAN scheme on regional air connectivity and the Indian tourism sector. He expresses pride in Airbus Helicopters contributing to this growth by enabling access to remote locations and regions in the country.

The H125, a single-engine helicopter renowned for its performance and versatility, is a member of Airbus’ Ecureuil family. With built-in maneuverability, excellent visibility, and low vibration levels in the cabin, the H125 is recognized as a multi-mission workhorse, suitable for aerial work, firefighting, law enforcement, rescue, air ambulance, and passenger transport.

The H130, another single-engine helicopter, is well-known for its widespread use in sightseeing services, charter operations, and emergency medical services. Featuring a spacious cabin for a pilot and up to seven passengers, the H130 provides a comfortable and quiet ride with state-of-the-art technologies, materials, systems, and avionics.
