“Exciting evening at Gwalior Airport as the New Terminal Building opens! Airport operations have started from the brand-new passenger terminal, welcoming the first flight of Air India Express from New Delhi to Gwalior,” the Airports Authority of India (AAI) mentioned on X.
It is noteworthy that the opening of the new terminal underscores Gwalior’s commitment to enhancing airport facilities and providing greater convenience to passengers.
Decoding eco-friendly terminal’s key facets
Earlier last month, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) unveiled a new state-of-the-art terminal building at Gwalior Airport. AAI responded proactively by setting up the environment-friendly airport terminal in record time, the authority mentioned.
Notably, the commencement of operations has come at a crucial time when the region is witnessing unprecedented growth in passenger traffic. The new terminal, spanning an expansive 20,000 sqm, embodies a vision for sustainable aviation and regional progress.
Further, the eco-friendly design of the terminal eyes significant carbon footprint reduction. Equipped with modern amenities and enhanced facilities, passengers can expect a seamless and comfortable travel experience.
Notably, the AAI operationalised new integrated terminal buildings at Chennai, Port Blair, Surat, and Tiruchirappalli Airports, as of March 2024.
