A London-bound Air India flight, which took off from Mumbai on Wednesday (August 14) morning with 354 passengers, had to return to the city after the pilot reported a pressurisation issue in the cabin.

The Boeing 777, which left Mumbai at 8:36 am, landed safely back in the city around 11:30 am. 

“Air India flight AI-129 that had departed from here Wednesday morning returned to the city after the pilot reported pressurisation issue in the Boeing 777 aircraft cabin,” the source told PTI.

Alternative flight arranged for passengers

In a statement, Air India confirmed that the flight, AI-129, made an air return due to a technical problem and landed safely for precautionary checks. The airline has already arranged alternative flights for the affected passengers.

“The flight operating from Mumbai to London made an air-return to Mumbai due to a technical issue. The aircraft landed safely at Mumbai for precautionary checks,” the airline said. 

Air India also offered full refunds or complimentary rescheduling to passengers as compensation for the disruption.
