Air India suspends its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv with immediate effect till August 8, 2024. This comes amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to our passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Tel Aviv during this period, with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges. Safety of our guests and crew remains our foremost priority,” the airline said.
Tensions in the Middle East remain high due to ongoing conflicts between Israel and various groups, including Hamas.
The airline is offering support to passengers with confirmed bookings to and from Tel Aviv during the suspension period, providing a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation fees.
Air India had cancelled its flights to the city on Thursday. Earlier this year, Air India had briefly suspended flights to Tel Aviv at different times due to the tensions in the region. After nearly five months, the carrier resumed services to the Israeli city on March 3. It again suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv again on October 7, 2023, following an attack by the Hamas group on the city.
