Tata Group-owned Air India has announced that its flagship A350-900 aircraft will start operating fights between Delhi and New York JFK from November 1 this year and Delhi-Newark flights from January 2, 2025.
The move is aimed at revamping passenger experience.
Premium Economy on key routes
The airline said that with the deployment of A350, its Premium Economy class experience will be introduced on the Delhi-New York JFK and Delhi-Newark routes for the first time. This will provide passengers the choice of 24 wide seats arranged in a 2-4-2 configuration within a dedicated, upscale cabin, featuring extra legroom and additional enhancements.
28 private suites, spacious Economy seats
Air India’s A350 aircraft feature 28 private suites in Business class. These suites have full-flat beds arranged in a -2-1 configuration. Each suite allows direct access to the aisle, has sliding doors for privacy and a personal wardrobe. Besides this, they have 64 spacious Economy seats arranged in a 3-4-3 configuration.
All the seats across cabins on the A350 have the latest-generation Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, along with HD screens offering over 2,200 hours of entertainment.
Air India’s flying institute in Maharashtra

Air India said that the training organisation will span 10 acres and include digitally-enabled classrooms, a maintenance unit, a hostel facility meeting global standards, and a digitized operation center.
