World Bank has approved $780 million loan for two projects in India, Mumbai Urban Transport Project 2A and dam rehabilitation and improvement project, to modernise 220 dams in four states. The $430 million Mumbai Urban Transport Project 2A is expected to improve suburban railway system in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region?one of the world?s largest urban centre with a population of 18 million in 2001.
